This is the Office Hours Report, your Friday recap of the NBA Top Shot Office Hours.
Office Hours - June 18th
Collector Score
The goal with the collector score requirement is for those eligible to have around a 25% chance to get a pack. This is why the 7,500 score requirement was set for the Holo Icon drop. The actual number was closer to a 27-28% chance for everyone.
Looking into implementing multiple queues for special pack drops.
One queue with a very high collector score requirement and also the highest % chance at a pack.
Another queue with medium collector score requirement with a lower% chance at a pack.
Third queue with low collector score requirement and lowest % chance at a pack.
I don’t like this idea, I’m just going to come out and say it. Queues are supposed to be random, the people with higher collector score’s will always be having a higher chance at a pack. The playing field is no longer level. I might change my mind on it as it becomes implemented but right now it’s not my favorite thing in the world.
Collector score requirement for the Playoff pack drop is TBA.
The team is being careful with adding collector score bonuses to badges and low serial numbers. They don’t want it to be too confusing for new collectors.
The Future
Rare Conference Finals pack drop will be in mid-July.
Legendary Finals pack drop will be around early-August. Most of the unreleased MGLE Moments will be in the Legendary Finals packs.
A referral program is in the works. Could possibly give your collector score a boost if the person you referred becomes an active collector.
There are “huge” plans for the offseason.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the team keeps things fresh and fun in the offseason. We definitely have some ideas but we’re excited to see what they come up with.
Series 3 most likely won’t start until the beginning of next season. The offseason will be a different series entirely.
Bidding system for the marketplace is “inevitable” but not in the near future.
They say things like this every other week, we know a bid/auction system is coming. We just have to be patient.
Editing listings is something that the team is looking into but it is not as easy to implement as we may thing. It probably won’t be added in the near future.
Just like the bidding system, the ability to edit listings is another thing we have been promised for a little while now. We’re being patient, if these things come anytime it will be during the offseason when all their efforts are not focused on the regular season/Playoffs.
The potential marketplace fee reimbursement will be credited based on how much collectors have bought - not sold.
This is something that’s very exciting, rewarding collectors for using the platform and exploring the marketplace. We hope that this reimbursement is not a one time thing and is treated as a perk for collectors rather than a special event.
Misc.
MGLE LeBron challenge was announced while marketplace was down and the marketplace was then rolled out to select users to prevent the site from crashing.
“Thousands of people going for the same 20 Moments” causes errors and issues.
The team has heard community feedback “loud and clear” and are working to improve this system.
An idea that I had that is similar to the trade tickets, is that when you burn a Moment you receive a ticket for that team. A challenge might then have the following requirements: A PG from LAC, a C from PHI and three SG from any team. This could be a way to alleviate stress on the site and eliminate bottlenecks in challenges.
The team is being careful with adding more badges, they don’t want to dilute the importance of them. If everyone has a badge, are they even special anymore?
There is a VIP support team that looks into the issues of the most active collectors and athletes.
Support team’s goal is to respond to every ticket within 24-48 hours. We hear this all the time, if they’re not at their goal yet they will be in due time. As they scale the team and streamline their operations the response times will come down.
Baller status is not a priority right now while they focus on improving collector score.
“Don’t be surprised if members of the Cool Cats Lounge have first access to merch.” Does this mean that merch is coming? I’m more excited about stadium integration and perks for being a fan, but merch is still very cool.
This concludes the sixth “Office Hours Report”. If you haven’t noticed, collector score seems to be a very hot topic recently. Keep stacking those Moments, keep grinding to bring that collector score up!
The next edition of the “Here For The Moments Report” will be Wednesday, June 23th and on Friday, June 25th will be the next “Office Hours Report”.
